
Dr. James Cutler grew up in Minooka, Illinois, and brings a strong sense of community and dedication to patient care into his practice. He earned his undergraduate degree from Culver-Stockton College before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri School of Optometry.
Dr. Cutler takes a whole-health approach to eye care, understanding the vital connection between overall health and vision. He is committed to providing the best possible visual outcomes for his patients, with specialties in medical eye care, complex contact lenses, and the management of corneal disease. His thoughtful, individualized approach allows patients to feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
In recognition of his clinical excellence and leadership, Dr. Cutler has received multiple professional honors, including the Paragon Vision Sciences Award for Excellence in Contact Lenses, Keyperson of the Year in Illinois for his involvement in his professional association, and Vision Source Administrator of the Year (2025).
Outside the office, Dr. Cutler enjoys ice hockey, skiing, biking, and spending time outdoors. He cherishes time with the love of his life, Kat, and their three children.
